Mar 6, 2005: one and a half
I've been waiting to upgrade skippy.net until the 1.5.1 release of WordPress, but I just couldn't wait. The new features are too yummy to wait any longer! There are, of course, still a few warts, and the 1.5.1 release is due shortly. I'll probably wait until then to upgrade all the other blogs I host....
Feb 12, 2005: subscribe2 beta
I've been using Mike's subscribe plugin on a site I host for some time now. It works well enough, but it always kind of irked me that it uses a text file to store the list of subscribers, instead of the database. It also irks me that there's no real verification to the subscription or unsubscription process....
Dec 29, 2004: bbPress
Matt has released bbPress, bringing all the value of WordPress to a bulletin board suite. I used to run phpBB here, so I know what a beast it is to personalize and maintain. I'll probably poke around the code a little, but doubt there's little I can do to improve it, given its pedigree. Nonetheless, it's nice to see XHTML and CSS standards compliance coming to bulletin boards. As Matt says...
