gay marriage

The Face of the Gay Marriage Ban is a powerful first-hand account of the discrimination that the Christian Right is hurling toward same-sex partners. I am deeply troubled to hear phrases like “your kind” and “your people” to describe homosexuals. What kind- human?

As I said before, I’d like to know what the non-religious precedent for a constitutional ban on gay marriage is. “Seperate but equal” didn’t work for black people, why does anyone think it will work for gay people?

Where’s the love and forgiveness that Jesus encouraged people to show? Where’s the humility and compassion? Where’s the evidence that "they’ll know we are Christians by our love"? Hell, where’s the compassionate conservatism that Dubyah promised us? Slander and segregation don’t strike me as particularly compassionate.
